1928 Daily Office Online

Worthwhile web resource

The Daily Offices from the 1928 Book of Common Prayer can be found online here.  You can also get a CD-ROM version for the rather paltry price of $14 (including shipping).

It seems like a lot of conservative Anglican organizations in the USA use the 1928 Prayer Book.  It is fine with me, but I wish someone would rewrite it in modern English.  No theological innovations like ECUSA, mind you!  Just lose the Elizabethan language.  Maybe it’s just me, but “antiquated” doesn’t necessarily mean “better.”  If that were true, we’d do the whole liturgy in Aramaic.  (The Maronite liturgy actually is partly in Syriac / Western Aramaic, but the rest is in contemporary English.)
