Change You Can Believe In

From the Tristate Home Page (Evansville, Ind.):

Proposed abortion legislation may threaten the future of Catholic hospitals in the U.S.

The issue, according to the "Aurora Beacon News," is whether the Freedom of Choice Act would mandate that Catholic hospitals perform abortions. Rockford Diocese spokeswoman Patricia Pitkus Bainbridge says the hospitals would close before doing such a thing.

As the legislation is considered, Catholic Health Association officials say they will focus first and foremost on protecting mothers and their unborn children.
President Obama told a Planned Parenthood group in 2007 that the first thing he would do if elected is sign the Freedom of Choice Act.

That should help clear up the "health care crisis."

What part of "shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" don't they understand. I suppose it's probably the same thing they don't understand about "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Do large chunks of the populace actually believe we can continue down this road and not face the removal of divine protection from this country? If, as I suspect was true, the War of Northern Aggression was penance for the sin of the "Peculiar Institution," what will it be for the atrocities committed on our own children?
